ABOUT ME
My name is Ada Seto, and I am a Registered Pharmacist working in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
I am currently completing a Master of Health Studies degree at Athabasca University. I hold a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy degree from the Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy at the University of Toronto. I am a registered pharmacist, licensed with the Ontario College of Pharmacists. I am passionate about patient and medication safety, pharmacy operations, operational excellence, health informatics, and quality improvement. My areas of interest include: hospital pharmacy operations, pharmacy informatics, sterile and non-sterile compounding, safe medication practice, and pharmacy leadership.
I am currently employed at the University Health Network, as the Multi-site Hospital Pharmacy Manager, providing oversight to the pharmacies at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre and Toronto Rehab Institute. In this role, I oversee functions related to pharmacy operations at multiple sites, covering acute care, investigational pharmacy services, and rehab/complex continuing care areas. I am responsible for quality assurance and patient safety in the medication management process and lead various corporate initiatives for compliance with national standards for sterile compounding. I have financial responsibility for pharmacy operating budgets and manage a team of pharmacists, pharmacy technicians, supervisors and leaders. I collaborate regularly with physicians, interprofessional leaders, and senior hospital administrators in moving forward hospital-wide initiatives through the multitude of committees of which I am a member.
The organizational values at my current place of work resonate with me and I have aligned my own professional values with these. They include: safety, compassion, teamwork, integrity, and stewardship. As a leader, I refer to these values in every decision made.
